![]() ![]() Tits doesn't even belong on the list, you know. I think the short "i" sound in "dick" gives the same jaunty effect that works for light, mainstream comedy. Maybe it's like what George Carlin said about "tits" in his Seven Words routine. Sam Kinnison, The Aristocrats, and a hell of a lot of other raw comedy just doesn't work with "dick". That said, "cock" is my epithet of choice in a lot of situations. Thus, the net humour was greater for getting the uncensored version put out there. I don't think they would have done so if the word had been "cock". Teece, NBC has put the uncensored version (with "dick") up on YouTube. Posted by StopMakingSense at 10:00 PM on Decem You just have to know how to use them and while putting them in a box is funny for a minute, I don't know that it's funny for three.īut, you know, I sort of need to unclench and your favorite sketch comedy show sucks and all that. I don't mean to rain on the dick joke parade. For that matter, any comedy show that allows celebrities to "make fun of themselves" (control their image) is inevitably toothless. ![]() Now listen to them say unusual, unexpected things and oh, hey, look how expensive our sets are!" Paris Hilton's (or whoever's) existence isn't the joke, just the mannerisms. "Here is a character you recognize from shows more popular than ours. ![]() They use pop culture references as a way to a) seem relevent and b) communicate jokes to people in a recognizable form. They don't take a stance, they don't have anything challenging, comedically, to say and they offer nothing but loving, gentle Pillsbury Doughboy pokes at current cultural trends. This is, by and large, the problem with all SNL sketches. (See also, the terrible SNL short "Please Don't Hurt My Testicles") It's easy to look back now and make fun of it now, but to what end? "Boy that music back then sounds funny? Didn't we all dress weird?" At this point, it's not satire - it's homage. Show did it in the 90s and when SNL does it now is that groups like Color Me Badd and Boyz II Men were the pop cultural norm and if not taken seriously, they were at least enormously successful - basically, waiting to be skewered. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() It’s floating to start with, unique, and Newt is already thinking about research papers and awards when. Well, not right into him, but close enough as it slams into the ocean that a spray of water splashes over the railing, and Newt spends a few seconds sputtering, and then moves closer, craning his neck to look at whatever it is. In his defense, he wasn’t expecting it to turn, actually turn in a flare of light, and crash right into him. So of course when he sees the shooting star, he wishes for something interesting to happen. Lately, his mind hasn’t been able to shut down. Newt is outside, late enough at night that most everyone else on the research vessel is asleep except for him. Open to doing things, that if he had actually thought about them for a few seconds, he might have realized were. ![]() The point Newt is making is that he was in a delicate state of mind when he saw the meteor. He hasn’t even been filling out his reports this last month, just copying and pasting from earlier with a few changes in dates, and you know what? He got praised for his increased work ethic. He’s stuck on this stupid ship for another week along the rim of the pacific ocean, and the last 5 months and change have been the most boring of his life. Good pay, good insurance, relatively high number of job openings, overall, very responsible, adult person job. From like, a professional, adult standpoint, Newt will admit there’s a whole lot of benefits to being a marine biologist. ![]() ![]() ![]() Contains R 3.3.3 framework, R.app GUI 1.69 in 64-bit for Intel Macs, Tcl/Tk 8.6.0 X11 libraries and Texinfo 5.2. If you’d rather not shell out for Sublime Text, you have a few options. The downside: features can be difficult to discover and you’ll have a nagging doubt you’re not using the editor to its full advantage. The editor is fast, stable and has a ridiculous number of features and plugins. Sublime Text remains the editor to beat despite the monetary cost. All the editors are good but, if I had to choose a single editor today, it would be an easy decision. If we presume round 7 was a three-way tie, Atom won three with Brackets and Sublime Text on four each. It therefore has a slight advantage but all the contenders are usable today. ![]() Sublime Text is the most mature application and the only one not in a pre-release phase (although I was using version 3 beta for the purpose of this review). $70 is considerably more expensive than free but divide it by the number of hours usage and the cost becomes negligible. You can evaluate the product for as long as you need it’ll nag you to purchase a license every so often. Unlike the other contenders, Sublime Text is a commercial product costing $70 per user (you can have as many installations as you like). extensive customization, great themes and numerous plugins.a command palette to access all features.“Goto Anything” quick navigation to locate files and code.comprehensive language support with TextMate-compatible grammars.Reviews have been mostly positive and, while it wasn’t the first sophisticated text editor, it set the bar for those which followed. The C++ and Python application was written by Jon Skinner and has attracted more than 2.5 million users since its launch in 2008. Finally, it’s not possible to cover every editor matching these criteria but let us know if there are any you’d like considered for a future review (such as the new Lime Text project).įirst, we have Sublime Text. Sorry Vim and Emacs fans - console-based applications have been excluded - but you were never going to consider an alternative editor anyway! I’ve also rejected browser-based editors such as Cloud9 and CodeEnvy because they tend to be a little too web-oriented and cannot be used offline. Immediately usable without a steep learning curve or having to remember numerous keyboard shortcuts.Launching should never be a once-a-day dread like some IDEs. Highly customizable with cross-platform plugins and themes. You should be able to use the same application for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, SQL, markdown and more. General-purpose text editors which support typical web languages.Your preferences and settings should be available regardless of which OS you’re using. Cross-platform and work on Windows, Mac and Linux. This review considers sophisticated code editors with the following criteria. IDEs tend to be monolithic applications which cater for a specific language, framework or platform. It fills the gaping void between basic text applications (Notepad, TextEdit, gedit, etc.) and full Integrated Development Environments (VisualStudio, Eclipse, NetBeans etc.) Simpler applications lack basic development requirements such as multiple documents, line numbering and code coloring. ![]()
